TIFT COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE ACTIVITY OCTOBER 2017

• Sheriff Gene Scarbrough reports the following activity for October 2017.  

He said that deputies conducted 2,044 business and property checks, 654 mobile home park and subdivision checks, done 63 school checks and answered 2,178 calls for service.

He said deputies served 149 warrants, 64 civil papers and 299 subpoenas.

The sheriff said that deputies arrested 82 people, some on multiple charges. He said that 51 drug charges were filed, 22 parole/probation charges, 18 property crime charges, 13 crimes against persons, 12 fraud charges, 6 weapons charges, 4 child support violations and 6 other non-traffic charges were filed.

Scarbrough said that traffic stops lead to the filing of 6 charges of driving under the influence and 3 driving with suspended or revoked license.

He said that deputies completed 521 incident reports, 41 accident reports, issued 36 traffic citations, 14 traffic warnings, and verified the addresses of 66 registered sex offenders living in Tift County and patrolled 62,890 miles.

He said deputies handled 148 transports totaling 7,588 miles.
