The Tift County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Division (CID) is a full service unit which investigates a wide spectrum of crimes occuring in Tift County. Each of the investigators has special training in a particular facet within the criminal investigation field. This training includes narcotics, child abuse, burglary, financial crimes, forensic computer examinations, robbery and death investigation.
The Sheriff's Drug Enforcement Unit operates under the unbrella of the Mid-South Narcotics Task Force (MSNTF). MSNTF is a multi-agency / multi-jurisdictional drug enforcement unit. The task force conducts narcotics and vice investigations in Tift, Turner and Crisp counties. The investigators use both covert and overt methods of investigation to identify, target and remove narcotics violators from the community.
The Criminal Investigation Division and the Drug Enforcement Unit have close working relationships with other Federal, State and Local agencies, including the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Bureau of Alcohol Tobbacco and Firearms, and the Drug Enforcement Administration.
