TCSO July Activity Report

Tift County Sheriff Gene Scarbrough reported the following activity for July 2017. He said that deputies conducted 1,352 business and property checks, 362mobile home park and subdivision checks, and answered 2,457 calls for service. He said deputies served 216 warrants, 156 civil papers, and 234 subpoenas.

The sheriff said that deputies made 111 arrests, some on multiple charges. He said 42 fraud charges were filed,  26 charges of parole / probation violation, 6 drug charges, 12 crimes against persons, 7 property crime charges, 13 for failure to appear, 5 child support violations, and 8 other non-traffic charges.

Scarbrough said that traffic stops lead to the arrest of 7 persons for driving with suspended or revoked license, 4 for driving under the influence, 1 for a drug charges, 1 wanted person and 2 for financial transaction card fraud.

He said that deputies completed 580 reports, 30 accident reports, issued 132 traffic citations, 64 warnings, and patrolled 61,126 miles and verified the addresses of 60 registered sex offenders residing in Tift County.

The sheriff said that deputies handled 74 transports totaling 235 hours and 9,869 miles.
