TCSO ACTIVITY MAY 2017

Tift County Sheriff Gene Scarbrough reported the following activity for the Sheriff’s Office for May 2017:

He said deputies conducted 2,061 business and property checks, 423 Mobile Home Park and subdivision checks, 95 school checks, and answered 2,993 calls for service. He said deputies served 158 warrants, 105 civil papers, and 297 subpoenas.

The sheriff said that deputies arrested 178 people, some on multiple charges. He said 38 charges of parole / probation violation were filed, 23 drug charges, 14 charges of failure to appear, 13 charges of crimes against persons, 13 for fraud, 3 weapons violations, 4 child support violations and 11 other non-traffic charges.

Scarbrough said that traffic stops lead to the filing of 23 charges of driving with suspended or revoked license, 6 charges of driving under the influence, 4 wanted persons and 3 people on drug charges.

He said deputies completed 534 reports, 24 accident reports, issued 590 traffic citations, issued 145 traffic warnings, patrolled 68,568 miles and verified the residence address of 62 registered sex offenders residing in Tift County.

The sheriff said that deputies handled 97 transports totaling 716 hours and 13,042 miles.
