Bottom Line:

Dangerous heat will continue for one more day across the area today with heat advisories and excessive heat warnings in effect.  In the excessive heat warning area across the Florida panhandle, expect heat index values in the 113-115 range. For the rest of the area, a heat advisory is in effect for heat index values of 108-112.  

In addition, scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop this afternoon, a few of which may be severe with damaging wind gusts.  The Storm Prediction Center has a marginal risk of severe storms across most of the area for today into this evening.
