Investigator Mitchel Watson Exchange Club's Officer Of The Year From The Tift County Sheriff's Office

Watson began his career with the Tift County Sheriff's Office on March 7, 2016 as a road deputy. It was during this time period he earned his reputation as a hard worked and a fast learner. He became known as a great coworker, competent employee, and an all-around good deputy. His supervisors quickly learned that he could be relied upon when given a task.
Because of these qualities, he was promoted to the Criminal Investigations Division as an Investigator on February 5, 2018. He soon caught on to what was required of an Investigator and proved himself to being very capable of being one. When we lost our Investigator that was responsible for working sex crimes, Investigator Watson stepped up and volunteered to begin working as our in house Sex Crimes Investigator. To no one's surprise, he took his new assignments and put 100% into his caseload. As a Sex Crimes Investigator, he works cases such as Child Molestations, Rape and computer crimes, such as Child Pornography.
As he progressed in this capacity, Investigator Watson has obtained specialized training involving sex crimes. He is also currently carrying on a class load to obtain his Project Management Professions Certificate at the same time. He is a member of the Georgia Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and the Tift Judicial Circuit's Sexual Assault Protocol Committee.
Investigator Watson is the type of Law Enforcement that any community should be proud of. He is an employee any supervisor would love to have. He is a hard worker, never complains and always strives to complete the tasks given to him the right way.
He is married to Tiffany Watson and has two children; Aaron (who has just become a licensed driver) and Kanner.
The Tift County Sheriff's Office could not be more pleased to have Investigator Watson as an employee .
