The Tift County Sheriff's Office is currently accepting applications for the position of Post Certified Deputy Sheriff's in our Transport & Court Division from 02/21/2023 to 03/14/2023. Pay is $19.33 per hour and $42,217.19 per year. 12 hour shifts vary with 84 hours each bi-weekly pay period.  Applications will be accepted in person at the Tift County Sheriff's Office or via mail.

• Perform a variety of law enforcement tasks
• Responds to emergency calls for assistance
• Prepares a wide variety of written reports and forms
• Must be proficient with the use of firearms
• Must possess current Peace Officer certification through Georgia Peace Officers Standards and Training Council
• Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Prior law enforcement experience is preferred
• Working hours vary-candidate must be able to work flexible hours
• Weekend and night working hours maybe required
