TIFT COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE ACTIVITY FEBRUARY 2017
Tift County Sheriff Gene Scarbrough reported the following activity for the Sheriff’s Office in February 2017.
Deputies conducted 1,860 business and property checks, 309 mobile home park and subdivision checks, 86 school checks and answered 2782 calls for services. Officers served 125 warrants, 77 civil papers, and 284 subpoenas.
The sheriff said that deputies arrested 137 people, some on multiple charges. He said 28 charges of parole / probation violation were filed, 23 drug charges, 26 fraud charges, 14 property crime charges, 12 failure to appear charges, 11 crimes against person charges, 8 obstruction charges, 8 charges of child support violations and 7 other non-traffic charges.
Scarbrough said traffic stops lead to the filing of 36 charges of driving with suspended or revoked license, 6 charges of driving under the influence and the arrests of 3 persons on drug charges.
He said that deputies completed 464 reports, 48 accident reports, issued 781 traffic citations, 231 warnings, and patrolled 71,406 miles and verified the residence address of 63 registered sex offenders residing in Tift County.
Sheriff Scarbrough added during February the transport division handled a total of 89 transports totaling 189 hours and 8,145 miles.
