Drug Arrest

On Thursday, September 22, 2022 members of the Tift County Sheriff's Office arrested Joshua John Gillis, age 32 of Tifton, Georgia.

Gillis was arrested after a traffic stop and officers were able to seize 62 tablets of a schedule II controlled substance (Dextroamphetamine) and 3.14 pounds of Marijuana.

Based on tips from the community, the above arrest, along with a lengthy investigation by the Tift County Sheriff's Office, investigators were able to establish probable cause for a search warrant on Ferry Lake Road in Tift County, which resulted in the seizure of a firearm.

Gillis has been charged with the following:

Possession with intent to distribute a Schedule II Controlled Substance (Dextroamphetamine)

Possession with intent to distribute Marijuana

Transactions in a controlled substance of Marijuana in or within a 1000ft of a school

Transaction in a controlled substance of Dextroamphetamine in or within a 100ft of a school
