Sheriff Gene Scarbrough Reports Activity For August 2019

Deputies responded to 3,424 calls for service, conducted 1,841 business and property checks along with 686 mobile home park and subdivision checks.

Sheriff Scarbrough said deputies served 83 warrants, 93 civil papers and 204 subpoenas.

The sheriff reported that deputies arrested 81 people, some on multiple charges. He said that 27 charges of parole/probation violation were filed, 12 drug charges, 1   weapon violation, 7 crimes against a person charges, 2 property crimes charges, 5 failures to appear, 2 child support violations, 1 case of fraud with 90 cases being assigned to the Criminal Investigative Division.

Traffic stops conducted by deputies led to 4 drug charges, 21 individuals having a suspended or revoked driver’s license as well as the arrest of 2 wanted persons with the recovery of 1 stolen handgun.

He added that deputies completed 574 reports, worked 31 accidents, patrolled 56,641 miles, verified the home addresses of 67 registered sex offenders and issued 1,474 citations with 150 warnings.

The sheriff also reported that deputies provided 61 transports, totaling 165 hours and 6,700 miles.
