TCSO's First C.H.A.M.P.S. Graduation at Matt Wilson
Tift County Sheriff Gene Scarbrough attended the first C.H.A.M.P.S. graduation class at Matt Wilson Tuesday, December 16th. 240 students completed the class conducted by Sgt. Keith Newell and Sgt. Ryner Patrick. C.H.A.M.P.S. (Choosing Healthy Activities and Methods Promoting Safety), provides guidance and the skills, ability and knowledge to be safe, healthy and happy in preparation for a successful life.
The 16 week class is taught by certified deputy sheriff's who have successfully completed instructor training. The Tift County Sheriff's Office has plans to offer the class to other 5th grade schools in the coming year.
