Sheriff Announces Pay Increases For Sworn Officers
According to Tift County Sheriff Gene Scarbrough the Tift County Board of Commissioners at their December 11 monthly business meeting unanimously approved salary increases for Non-Exempt Sworn Officers of the Tift County Sheriff's Office. Sheriff Scarbrough said, "this pay increase is well deserved as you, the front line officers represent this agency in a professional manner."
The entry level salaries for Detention Officer, Deputy Sheriff and Investigator will increase a little more than 10%. Currently employed officers up to the rank of Lieutenant will see an increase 2 step ups in their pay grade or 5% to prevent compaction in salaries. Listed below is our new entry level rate Effective January 1, 2018.
Detention Officer $13.47 per hour (New $14.91 per hour)
Deputy Sheriff $14.87 per hour (New $16.41 per hour)
Investigator $15.62 per hour (New $17.29 per hour)
